About Cat
I’m Cat and I’m a healthy eating coach, nutritionist and chef, with over ten years of experience in community nutrition. I am passionate about helping others feel empowered to eat well and take ownership of their health journey.
I LOVE food. Cooking it. Serving it. Learning it. Celebrating with it. I believe food is meant to be savored and enjoyed as part of a balanced lifestyle, rather than have it control and define a person’s value.
With a background in communications and the culinary arts, I’ve taught healthy cooking and nutrition education in different settings to people of all age groups in the US and abroad. I went to graduate school to study public health with a concentration in nutrition, and my approach to coaching is rooted in behavior change research and nutrition science. In addition to coaching, I currently work in public health, designing and managing programs that promote healthy eating and increase affordable access to healthy food in NYC neighborhoods.
Eat Well Eat Real grew out of my desire to help people discover that eating well can go hand in hand with wellness and health. I love working with other people to identify strategies that motivate and sustain change. I truly believe that we aren’t meant to go at life alone. Plus, food experiences are so much more fun when they’re shared.
From my experience in nutrition education, I recognize that progress on your health journey is not linear. There is value in the whole process and each step within the process, and it’s important to be present for both the victories and the losses.
You’ll usually find me in the kitchen, with ingredients spread out across the counter. I love creating healthy, delicious recipes and on any given weeknight (and early morning!) you can find me playing with spice blends for roasted veggies, testing different flours for breakfast muffins, or exploring the farmers market for seasonal produce. I’m the one with spreadsheets, notebooks, and note apps filled with new recipe ideas to try, with each one tested, ranked and categorized. Yup, that’s me. And I do it so you don’t have to. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned from my kitchen adventures with you.
In my spare time, I find joy in puns, practicing yoga, being outdoors, traveling, tending to my growing collection of plants, and looking for new noodle shops to try.
I look forward to connecting with you!
